Documenting the World Child Forum in Davos
Normally, we know what to expect from event videos: Concerts offer music, exhibitions show art, and political forums hold speeches and discussions. But as we entered the mighty Davos conference hall, we quickly realized that the World Child Forum was going to be different.
Hundreds of young adults from all over the world had arrived in Switzerland after a long journey to network, make new friends and share their visions for the future of children. It quickly became clear that we would not simply create a standard event video. Instead, we wanted to tell the personal stories of the participants, because each of them had an important message to share. And it was our job to give them a voice with the help of our camera.
In this blog post, we show you three special videos that were produced during the World Child Forum.
UNBOUND - Rijad Muminović
A portrait about freedom
With his charismatic nature and fearless charisma, Rijad has the ability to inspire and motivate everyone around him. It is easy to imagine that he could one day become a great politician. At the Forum, he took a bold step and spontaneously decided to give a speech on the Open Stage in front of the large audience. It was fascinating to see how a young man who seems so self-assured also shows a vulnerable side when confronted with stage fright. Even more impressive was his willingness to talk openly about his insecurities.
Rijad comes from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
THE WAY OF TEA - Hanna
A portrait of interculturality
Anyone who has several nationalities automatically becomes an ambassador for a globally networked lifestyle. Hanna goes one step further by traveling the world to spread positive energy and promote intercultural understanding. She uses the traditional Japanese tea ceremony as her unique method of bringing people together. In the video you can see how people stop to enjoy a cup of tea in the middle of a noisy event.
Hanna comes from Japan.
Overcome - MASCHA
A portrait of healing
Masha brought a completely unexpected vibe to our portrait series. She seems to be a person who has to think quite a lot about her current situation and her place in the world. It quickly became clear that life is not all bed of roses for her at the moment. The longer the video goes on, the deeper we delve into her thoughts on the World Child Forum. But heavier topics are also addressed.
Masha comes from Russia.
